Boca Vein Treatment Services

At our Boca vein treatment center, we recognize the pain and embarrassment that come with varicose veins and spider veins. Varicose veins may also be a sign of an underlying medical problem, and if left untreated can become extremely painful or even form ulcers. Until recently, patients suffering from vein disease had very limited treatment options, and often resorted to invasive vein surgery. However, there are now a number of new alternatives to vein surgery, making it easier than ever for you to get rid of varicose veins.

At The Boca Vein Center, we offer a wide variety of services to help you get rid of varicose veins and feel your best again. Dr. Kimmel performs all of these treatments in the convenience and privacy of our Boca vein treatment clinic, under local anesthesia. Unlike the vein surgery of the past, our treatments allow most patients to be back on their feet the next day, with few side effects, little discomfort, and minimal scarring. The range of treatments offered at The Boca Vein Center include duplex ultrasound, endovenous laser treatment (EVLT), ambulatory phlebectomy, sclerotherapy, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy (UGS), ligation and stripping, and transdermal laser vein treatment.

Duplex ultrasound

At our Boca vein treatment center, we first use duplex ultrasound to painlessly assess your condition. Dr. Kimmel will use the results of your duplex ultrasound to diagnose your vein disease and develop a treatment program tailored to your needs.

EVLT (Endovenous Laser Treatment)

During EVLT, a tiny laser fiber is inserted into the vein wall. Carefully controlled laser energy is then directed at the vein wall, which seals and closes it. A minimally invasive procedure, EVLT leaves no scarring, and allows patients to return to normal activities as quickly as the next day. EVLT has a 95-97% success rate, making it a highly effective way to treat venous reflux disease and get rid of varicose veins.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy

Like all of our offered services, Dr. Kimmel performs ambulatory phlebectomy in our convenient Boca vein treatment center. During ambulatory phlebectomy, tiny cuts, 2-3 millimeters long, are made along the vein. The vein is then gently removed through the incisions. Most of the patients at our The Boca Vein Center are able to return to normal activities the day after the ambulatory phlebectomy procedure.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a time-tested, highly effective, and minimally invasive treatment for diseased veins in which a sclerosing agent is injected into the vein, causing it to shut down and eventually be absorbed into the body. Usually, several sclerotherapy sessions spaced several weeks apart are required.

UGS (Ultrasound- Guided Sclerotherapy)

During ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, an ultrasound is used to locate the diseased vein. Next, a sclerosing agent is injected into the vein, causing it to close up and be absorbed back into the body.

Ligation & Stripping

Ligation and stripping (vein surgery) has since been replaced by many newer and less invasive practices. However, in some special cases, vein surgery may be the best method to get rid of varicose veins.

Transdermal laser vein treatment

Transdermal laser vein treatment is often used to treat smaller spider veins. For best results, it is often used after sclerotherapy to treat spider veins that remain as a cosmetic issue.
