Dr. Richard D. Kimmel
Dr. Richard Kimmel, a leading Boca vein specialist, established The Boca Vein Center in 1991 when he saw a need for a specialized vein doctor in the Boca Raton area. Dr. Kimmel believes that “there is a great need in our community for an experienced vascular surgeon to help treat abnormal veins. Many doctors claim to be ‘experts’ but few are board certified vascular surgeons with the experience and technical skills needed to provide exceptional vascular care.”
A highly experienced Boca vein specialist, Dr. Richard Kimmel is a Board Certified Cardiothoracic and Vascular (CTV) Surgeon. He is also the past chairman of the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgical Division of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS) and currently serves on the Board of Governors of the ACOS. Dr. Kimmel is also a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, a Fellow of the ACOS, a Clinical Investigator with the NIH, and an Affiliate Member of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center of the University of South Florida. He is an Assistant Clinical Instructor in Surgery at the Nova-Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Davie, Florida.
Dr. Richard Kimmel’s staff includes Julie Foster, R.N., who has worked with him since 1994. She is directly involved with patient clinical care. Dr. Kimmel also works with Clara Lingerfeldt, RVT, and Melissa Briggs, RVT, both of whom are registered Vascular Ultrasound Lab technologists who perform vascular ultrasound studies and assist with our office-based vein treatments. Dr. Kimmel and his staff, including Office Administrator Donna Streck and Suzanne Finley-Fox, R.N., are all committed to providing the best quality of care possible, in a personalized and friendly setting.
In his practice, Dr. Kimmel uses the Dornier 940 laser system, a highly effective and modern approach to treating all kinds of vein conditions. The Dornier 940 allows for unparalleled precision and accuracy, eliminating the need for painful and invasive vein surgery and cutting procedure time down to 45 minutes or less. As a nationally recognized Boca Raton vein doctor, Dr. Richard Kimmel also routinely trains new physicians in the latest advanced vein treatment procedures including endovenous laser treatment, ambulatory phlebectomy and other techniques.
Dr. Kimmel has almost 20 years of experience performing both thoracic and vascular procedures and working with patients with a variety of vein disorders. He and his staff strive to provide effective, personal, and friendly vein care to all of their patients.
